Can One Restaurant Visit Tell It All?

I’m sure we have all had that experience where we try a restaurant and maybe don’t enjoy it or just do not like it. But then we have a friend who is dying to go and we ultimately give in to make them happy and end up enjoying the place.

It makes me wonder, can we judge a place truly off of one visit?

I don’t think we can.

I tried the viral Popup Bagels a few months back with a friend who had been before and was surprisingly disappointed. I didn’t understand the hype around them, and another friend told me that maybe I had gone on an off day. But when you are paying for these bagels and cream cheese, wouldn’t you hope that they are consistent in their quality?

I kept thinking about Popup Bagels and knew that I would eventually give them another try. Then on March 6th, I knew that time had come when I found out they were doing a cinnamon raisin bagel and maple syrup butter for only a few days. This sounded like a dream to me and immediately made it my plan to go early the next morning. I woke up at 7 am and walked across town to pick up my bagels and take them home, and I will say, this time, they did not disappoint. I was pleasantly surprised.

It does make me question, though, of the places I do not think too highly of, do I owe it to them to give them another shot?
